Signal Drift No. 1
Overview
Signal Drift No. 1 is a physical manifestation of digital instability. Part of a series exploring the intersection of procedural logic and tactile expression, this piece captures the precise moment where a system's "signal" begins to break down, resulting in a structured yet unpredictable visual rhythm.
The Process
The composition was architected through custom generative software, developed using a "vibe coding" methodology—leveraging agentic AI to bridge high-level creative intent with complex software architecture.
Unlike traditional digital art, the "glitches" seen here are not the result of file corruption or datamoshing. Instead, they are original computational designs: a procedural system of layered, grid-based graphics where horizontal shifts and displacements are calculated and then meticulously translated onto linen using acrylics.
The result is a striking contrast between the rigid, geometric "drift" of the digital world and the organic, atmospheric washes of the physical medium.
